Through exaggerated designs inspired by urban landscapes, the sculptures highlight the transient nature of our built environment using elements such as rusted rebar and aluminum scaffolding to suggest remnants of human intervention. These alternative structures critically engage with contemporary control systems and question the established power dynamics inherent in our urban environments. We invite viewers to consider the possibility of subversion, resistance, and the emergence of new forms of agency.

Portals to a virtual elsewhere (tryptic) are three unstretched canvas paintings delicately suspended on the wall, held in place by reclaimed rebar poles. Using a robust material that normally supports concrete, the vulnerable pairing highlights the precarious nature of the future we envision.

In Garden Maintenance, I explore the blurred boundaries within our daily lives through the interplay of identity and architecture. What appears to vaguely be a dry rock garden, are meticulously arranged grains of rice instead of traditional pebbles. The installation takes on an uncanny quality, subverting the expected by challenging what is meant by authenticity and highlighting our innate desire to preserve a world that is in constant flux. The hempcrete boulders, rather than their natural counterparts, are paired with industrial rebar which both paradoxically safeguards and encloses the serene oasis.
